Crud Roadracer Fender
Traditional mudguard construction dictates a sturdy design with bolted fixing at the brake bridges, and metal or rigid plastic utilized in the main arc. This principle has remained unchanged for more than a century. The Crud Roadracer concept turns orothodox road and mudguard designs on it's head. Crud reasoned that if you could "float" the mudguard off the rim pictured here, then you could do away with alot of taditional fixings. The ultralight Roadracer mudguard (180 grams for the pair) just hovers in place, so there is nothing to rattle or rub. The brushes instantly dampen any road vibrations settling the mudguard into it's neutral central position. During extensive testing Crud were unable to wear the pile against the rim and the friction was so light it is unmeasureable.
