HISTORY time line
Data Base
In 1987 we establish a customer database and mailing list. We developed the database into our marketing outreach campaigns with direct mail marketing. This allowed us to add toll free phone and mail order service to our
retail operation. The current customer database now exceeds 35,000 customers.
Proprietorship
Store began operations as a sole proprietorship in March 1987
Incorporation
Velotique Limited was incorporated in 1990
Location
In 1987 Velotique began operations in a modest retail store at 1596 Queen Street East, with 750 square feet of retail space. In 1995 Velotique moved to it’s present location three doors east, at 1592 Queen Street East with 2100 square feet of retail space
Mail order
Mail order catalog began in April 1988 with our first publication and direct marketing program.
Internet Website
We started our website in 1996. The website does more than present an online retail experience. It allows us to communicate with our customers. In addition to the usual shopping cart experience we provide educational information and articles profiling my cycling and skiing adventures around the world.
E-mail Newsletter
In 2008 we began an on-line newsletter. It is sent out every two weeks. Users can subscribe online.
