WINDSTOPPER® products give you the freedom to be your best and enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. They keep you comfortable, warm, and protected across a wide range of weather conditions and activities, so that you can focus on your experience without the distraction of feeling cold, damp, or overheated.
Windstopper is a fabric laminate that is only windproof and breathable, not waterproof.
The benefit of it not being waterproof is that it is more breathable, and so it is best suited to high aerobic activities such as running, cycling and cross-country skiing when waterproofing isn't your primary concern but breathability is. By it's nature if it is windproof, it is usually water-resistant as well.
Like most softshell fabrics, Windstopper products are typically coated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency), which provides them with a modest degree of water resistance. They will wet through in heavy rainfall but may be worn comfortably in light drizzle.

Moisture management guarantees constant performance
Physical exertion produces moisture, which must be rapidly wicked away since trapped moisture cools the body and causes discomfort. The mechanical push-pull effect created by combining an internal hydrophobic fiber with an external hydrophilic fiber draws perspiration away from the skin. Moisture evaporates on the external layer of the fabric, not on the body. Because no cooling occurs and fabric does not stick to the skin, comfort is enhanced and performance improved.
