Resolution
Throughout the summer my aim is to maintain my cross country skiing fitness level by roller skiing and cycling. This winter I resolve to keep my cycling fitness level by spinning. However to add flexibility and upper body strength I created a hybrid by blending my two favorite sports cycling and tai chi. Do you think it will catch on?

Is your head spinning?
The choices for indoor cycle training (spinning) can be overwhelming?
It can be difficult to choose the right equipment. They all seem to do the same thing. They allow you to ride indoors with your own bike. They all provide a stable platform to support your bike and provide resistance. More expensive trainers are generally constructed with better materials and design. They are more durable, more stable and easier to connect to your bike. The better trainers provide a smoother, quieter and more road-like feel.
What else will you need?
A Riser Block to support your front wheel is essential to level and stabilize your bike and steering. A Sweatnet to keep corrosive perspiration off you bike is a good idea. Indoor training tires grip the trainer better and will save your good tires for the road. A heartrate monitor is also a good idea so you can monitor your effort to get the most out of your training. Training Videos also help you stay focussed and motivated.
Wind, Magnets or Fluid
The resistance mechanism is important . Wind is inexpensive but is very noisy ( we don't carry this technology ). Magnetic resistance is relatively quiet and economical. Fluid resistance provides the quietest most road-like feel as a result of it's progressive resistance curve. Another important factor is the weight of the flywheel. The heavier it is the smoother the pedal feels.
Adjustable Resistance
Adjustment of resistance is achieved by shifting gears on your bike. Having a remotely adjustable mechanism does not increase the resistance level. The best designs make use of your gears.
