Rollerski Season Begins
As the daylight hours diminish and the air cools, my thoughts turn to winter. I haven't put my bike away yet, but I have brought out my rollerskis as a supplement to riding. Rollerskiing is a lot of fun. It is a perfect simulation of cross-country skiing. It is intended as a dryland activity for experienced cross-country skiers.
We have a long rollerski season in Ontario. Even though my first few strides are a bit wobbly, I soon remember why I enjoy cross country skiing, with or without snow.
The cost of rollerskis has come down in recent years and the equipment has improved. To help you select the perfect equipment, choose your technique (classic or skating) and then consider the surface on which you will ski (smooth, rough or unpaved) .View the chart on our rollerski page. --Saul
