Inspired by Nature Merino fibre was created by nature to protect merino sheep in the harsh environment of New Zealand's Southern Alps. If the fibre couldn't withstand extremes of cold and heat, the animal would die. We can't design a better fibre, so we've turned nature's merino into an all-season clothing system for humans. The Icebreaker Difference The first thing they did was identify the fibre attributes that determined fabric quality. There are six main attributes: fibre diameter, fibre strength, length, co-efficient of variation of length, co-efficient of variation of diameter, and purity. They developed a system of paying a forward price that is sustainably profitable to the grower. In return, growers supply the highest quality merino.
