2008 Tour de France DVD
2008 saw one of the most suspenseful, competitive, and exciting editions of the Tour de France in many years. Cadel Evans gave another gritty performance, Alejandro Valverde started the race off with a bang, and Chicago-born Christian Vandevelde was the surprise of the race. But with a near-record seven different race leaders during the race, the powerful CSC team put its unmatched depth on display to place their popular and soft-spoken leader, Carlos Sastre, on the top step of the podium in Paris.
While a veteran rider with a strong team took the yellow jersey and three-time world champion Oscar Freire took the green, this was a race in which cycling’s next generation of stars exploded onto the scene with startling panache. Whether you consider it boasting or a mere statement of fact, 23-year-0ld Mark Cavendish certainly backed up his claim to being the fastest man in the world over the final meters with four stage wins. Andy Schleck, while helping his brother Frank, and then Carlos Sastre into the yellow jersey, convincingly won the honor of best young rider over fellow up-and-comers Roman Kreuziger and Vincenzo Nibali. Not to be outdone, the young Austrian Bernhard Kohl ran away with the polka dot climber’s jersey.
It’s going to be a challenge to stuff all the racing spectacle of this year’s race into our DVD sets, but we’re confident we can do it. Don’t miss out on this unique race. Order today to take advantage of pre-order pricing and be among the first to receive either the 4-hour survey or the 12-hour comprehensive collector’s edition DVD set

2007 Tour de France DVD
THE TOUR REDISCOVERED
After perhaps the darkest hours in the history of the Tour de France, the 2007 race concluded with a ray of sunshine and glimmers of hope that the sport of cycling has entered a new era that will be free of doping scandals and marked by restored trust in the minds of its millions of fans. Such was the impact of the victory of 24-year-old Alberto Contador on the Champs Elysees. Molded by the hands of Tour Kingmake Johan Bruyneel and Discovery Channel – the power and the team behind Lance Armstrong’s seven Tour victories – the young Spaniard had to face numerous obstacles en route to success. It was an astounding finale to the American team’s last Tour de France! A gifted climber, the Madrid-born rider first let rip on the daunting Galibier deep in the Alps as part of a daring two-rider attack. Then he came even closer to yellow with one of the most memorable mountain victories of the decade, deep in the Pyrenees on the fabled Plateau de Beille. Is it just a coincidence that on two occasions, Armstrong himself sealed the Tour there? The final step to leadership came in a surprising twist that not even Bruyneel could have predicted or engineered. No sooner had Contador taken the yellow jersey than he had to mount his final defense in the terrain where he was weakest – the time trial. Hailed as the new Armstrong for his aggressiveness, strength and racing wisdom even in the most tumultuous of Tours, Contador’s path to cycling’s ultimate prize is a gripping tale of persistence in the face of sporting turmoil, self-belief in times of doubt and widespread cynicism, and courage in the darkest of dark times. This video presents a storybook triumph in the midst of real-world adversity! Don’t miss it!

2008 Giro d'Italia DVD
Three-disc set - Pre-order yours today!
Your order will ship upon completion of production.
Alberto Contador overcame 12 years of Italian domination to win the 91st Giro d'Italia. Denied the opportunity to defend his 2007 Tour de France win, the 25-year-old Spaniard and his powerful team came to the 2008 Giro on a mission to prove they were still cycling's best.
Flanked by 2008 Tour of California winner Levi Leipheimer and this year's Romandie champion Andreas Kloden, Contador showed impressive time trialling form and tenacity in the mountains despite the incessant aggressive attacks by second place finisher Ricardo Ricco. 2007 winner Di Luca lacked the dominant form he displayed last year, but hung tough through the race until being dropped by the favorites on the daunting slopes of the Passo del Mortirolo. Punctuating the race was the dual between Daniele Bennati and Mark Cavendish over the sprinters points while Emanuele Selle ran away with the Mountain jersey.
Our DVD set will document every all the excitement of this surprising race paired with the beauty of the Italian countryside. Don't miss it. Pre-order yours today!

2007 Paris Roubaix
For some bike racers, just the name Paris-Roubaix itself inspires fear like no other one-day bike race on earth. They call it the Hell of the North, and this year’s Paris-Roubaix was hotter than ever before. As the favorites wilted in record temperatures, outsiders blasted their way through the cobbled dustbowls of northern France to forge their place in cycling history.Australia secured their first ever Paris-Roubaix this April thanks to grizzled veteran Stuart O’Grady, using a classic combination of team strategy, luck and brute strength to go clear. O’Grady first viewing of the Hell of the North was on a grainy home video recording back home in Melbourne 20 years ago. As he himself put it, “from that moment on, no other race mattered to me so much. My heroes were the heroes of the Classics - the Andrei Tchmils, Johan Museeuws and Marc Madiots of this world.”Two decades later, World Cycling's stunningly filmed DVD shows exactly how O’Grady made those video-inspired dreams come true - joining his heroes to succeed in an epic two-wheeled adventure called Paris-Roubaix.Commentary by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen. 2007 Leige Bastogne Leige & 2007 Fleche Wallone
Few riders are foolhardy or ambitious enough to predict they can conquer the Liege-Bastogne-Liege bike race. Even fewer actually manage to achieve that goal. The last, the most venerable and by far the most strategically complex of all the Spring Classics, Liege-Bastogne-Liege has retained its own very special, dangerously seductive character for over a century. Run off on demanding and near-inaccessible terrain through the Ardennes hills of Belgium, a seemingly interminable series of climbs slowly grinds down all but the most persistent, courageous, and fit of the stars on an eight-hour odyssey. Regularly frequented by the Tour stars, packed with the fiercest and most ruthless race action, La Doyenne makes an intriguing transition from the northern cobbled Classics to the stage races of summer. Liege-Bastogne-Liege is a race designed to create legends of cycling, and this dvd is a painstakingly crafted reflection of this utterly captivating event. Commentary by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen.

2007 Omloop Het Volk and Ghent-Wevelgem
These two races live in the shadow of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix but they are equally challenging and dangerous and always thrilling. They plunge the viewer straight into the true, wild heart of one-day Belgian racing. Het Volk opened the Belgian season with a full course of pack-splitting climbs, brutal attacks, and cunning tactics all displayed by the likes of Tom Boonen, Stuart O’Grady, Nick Nuyens and Baden Cooke, but it was the young Italian from Veneto who outfoxed the big guns in the final kilometers of this classic. 25 year-old Pozzato was thrilled after the race and said, “It was an important win for me. The final was difficult with riders like Tom Boonen, Nuyens and O’Grady; all of them are good riders. While chasing O’Grady and Flecha I believed in our chances in the finale and apparently I did that with good reason. But it was my team who did a lot of the work, and it was not just the last kilometer, but they did lots of work beforehand.”In this year’s Ghent-Wevelgem, bike-handling and luck had as much to do with success as sheer strength when the cobbles of the Kemmelberg took their toll on many of the riders. The race tackles the Kemmel twice and showcased some of the most spectacular crashes we’ve seen in years, all due to warm weather, high speeds, and aggressive riding. In the end, those who escaped the carnage on the Kemmel broke away for a thrilling and memorable finish with the win going to Marcus Burghardt of T-Mobile. Ghent-Wevelgem and Het Volk: one wrong choice will sink you permanently, but one right choice is perhaps no guarantee of success. WCP captures two of Belgium’s top cobbled classics with all their beauty and prestige, in one unforgettable DVD package. Commentary by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen. Approx 240 min

2007 Tour of Flanders
When the paths of two cycling stars cross in one of cycling’s most tactical and gruelling Classics, there’s no predicting the consequences.April 8th 2007. Spurred on by runaway success in the warm-up races and with hundreds of thousands of diehard supporters lining the route of the Tour of Flanders, double winner Tom Boonen has trained as never before for Belgium’s biggest one-day race. When the starter’s pistol sounds, he’s more than ready for action. Italian Alessandro Ballan, meanwhile, is just another outsider spurred on by reckless personal ambition and love of the Classics in the near-hopeless task of toppling Boonen. Then suddenly, just as Boonen seems unstoppable, near-disaster strikes the Belgian. For Ballan, the game is on. But so it is for the rest of the field...A bloodied giant but not a beaten one, Boonen tries every strategy he can to come back into the frame, culminating with a last-ditch effort on Flanders most famous and dreaded climb, the Mur de Grammont. Will Ballan and the rest know how to respond as Boonen weakens? Or can Boonen - or another Belgian - save the day for the host nation? Tactically intriguing and crammed with high drama right up until - literally - the final meter, Flanders 2007 is a one-day Classic which simply does not dull with age. In a word, unbeatable.
